A Foray Into Sans Couleur

These are pictures from downtown Winnipeg, right by the Legislative building.

Looking down Memorial Boulevard, toward the Legislative building.

A monument on Memorial Boulevard for the World War I vets.

The same, but different angle.

One small fountain in a large pool of many fountains right across the street from aforementioned monument.

To the left of some law court buildings, there are trees looming over you, perhaps as an omen to your visit. Have a great stay!

You can see the looming trees across the street to your right. As evidence of their omen, we see this cyclist taking a serious detour away from the dastardly deciduous types

This would be Queen Victoria in front of the aforementioned Legislative building. Don't worry about her sitting by her lonesome out in the public. She has protection:

And here it is! (on the back of her throne, just in case trouble ensues, he's got protection)

Traveling to the eastern side of the Legislative grounds, there are a number of sites to see, including this path to get out of the said grounds.

Get ready for a plethora of fountain pictures. This one is a closeup of this one:

A symphony of sprinkle!

Indeed, nothing like a dip in the fountain on a hot day.

From the opposite side, we see where the jets of water REALLY come from!

This would be the entrance to the Legislature. It may not look like it now, but you CAN fit between those pillars. (just turn sideways)

Behind the Legislature, we see a memorial of Louis Riel. He's holding some rolled-up paper and shaking his fist at the river. (a little surprising considering he fought against the politicians; not against the river).

This would be a monolith in the parking lot of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. No matter where you go, the good folks at WAG make sure art is IN YOUR FACE!

By the Forks, we see this sun dial as created by the Cree, though this is actually a reasonable facsimile thereof. The inscriptions say something to the effect of, "If you can read this, you're driving too close!"

Thanks for your attention. We now return you to your regularly scheduled colour.
