While this is called the Shakespeare Theatre, there is a lot more going on in here than just acting (a particular interest of mine -- food -- being one of the other main attractions).

FROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
A lighthouse still runs close to the shore of Navy Pier.

ow! ow! ow! ow!
And once again, art serves a dual purpose: It is also a slide and object with which to surmount. Functional art -- clearly the way of the future.

On one side of the pier, you have a nice view of the part of the Chicago skyline. The downtown of Chicago runs for a great many kilometres, so you're only getting a piece of the whole. There were a few other buildings in my way, given that I was at ground level.

That's a lamp post down there
On the other side of the pier, you have this view. To be clear, that yellowish glowing orb down below is just a lamp, not to be confused with an alien spaceship I originally thought it to be.

With the exception of a tempest, crazy rush-hour traffic, and smoke so thick I could barely see the road in front of me, it was 8,000 kms of casual driving (casual in the sense that I did not experience nor cause any deaths or dismemberments). After 170,000 kms of driving, 40,000 of which were highway driving, I experienced my first crack in my windshield. Clearly, this disturbs me. I'll see about laminating my windows next year.
